Hello? Is anyone there? Guess who is calling?
It's Mother Nature giving you a call since it's been such a long time since you visited her due to having your head buried in a computer/phone/TV or busy doing any of your 1001 chores on your to-do list.
Well, are you going to answer her call?!!!
In my humble opinion, you should because she is full of surprises and you never know what you might learn and you can even take your trusted electronic with you, and whether you are a newcomer or you have been visiting her frequently (kudos to this group of visitors), she has something in stock for each and every one of you.
For the curious newbies or the nature lovers that wish for a way to identify the wildlife while hiking or taking a stroll, I have some good news for you all, there are apps to look up the plants (flora) and the animals (fauna). Those apps are also good to have in case you want to know if you can eat those weird fruits that you encounter (or the ones that look familiar) or wonder what species is the animal you are looking at. Those apps are either free or cost a small fee and their purpose is to help you identify the wildlife that is sparking your curiosity. For example, if you are a birder, there are apps specifically for that such as iBird.com.
Nature apps to check out:
iBird.com
iNaturalist.org
PictureInsect.com
PictureMushroom.com
PlantNet.org
TrailLink.com
So go ahead on your day off or in your free time, wear some long sleeve shirts and pants or whatever you are comfortable wearing, and go visit with Mother Nature with your trusted phone/electronics in tow for identification and knowledge purposes.
You can thank me later
